Alastair Riedlinger is an Australian visual artist whose practice spans fine art, printmaking, illustration and multidisciplinary creative projects. Drawing on both traditional techniques and contemporary creative tools, his work is united by a commitment to authenticity, thoughtful craftsmanship and meaningful storytelling.
After a decade in nursing, Alastair made the decision to pursue art full-time. Throughout his healthcare career, he continued to formally study visual art while developing his own professional practice, ultimately bringing together years of creative exploration with a unique perspective shaped by human connection and lived experience.
The human figure and the stories we carry remain central to much of his work. Whether creating original paintings, wearable art or bespoke commissions, Alastair is drawn to themes of identity, emotion and the shared experiences that connect us. His aim is to create work that feels considered, honest and enduring, inviting viewers to form their own personal connection with each piece.
Wearable art
A 100% thick cotton tee from the wearable art fish series, hand-printed fish by fish using original lino blocks. Each shirt carries slight variations from the printing process, making every piece unique.
Each design is hand-carved from lino and individually hand-printed onto 100% cotton, making each tote a personal piece of Noosa-inspired art.
These singlets are hand dip-dyed, and each fish has been individual printed by hand. Every detail, from the initial design to the final touches, is personally crafted, ensuring that each item is a distinct and artful creation.
